SCH (Supreme Council of Health) – Qatar Licensing Exam
The Supreme Council of Health, (SCH) today announced that a new assessment test for those seeking licenses to practice health professions in Qatar. The SCH has signed an exclusive long term agreement with Prometric , the world’s leading provider of technology-enabled testing and assessment services, for the exam delivery. This step comes in line with the Council's directions to establish modern, state-of-the-art criteria to select the best practitioners to work in healthcare institutions.
Collaborating with Prometric as its test services partner, SCH will completely eliminate its paper and pencil exams, from its testing operation and will convert all of its exams to a computer-based format.
Under the guidance of his Highness the Emir of Qatar, the SCH was established in 2009 and given the responsibility to guide reform in Qatar in order to establish one of the world's most admired and renowned health systems. From 1 April 2010, all applicants from the practitioner groups listed below will be required to successfully complete a licensing examination as part of the evaluation process:
• General scope physicians
• General scope dentists
• General scope nurses
• Midwifes
• Pharmacists
• Laboratory technicians
• Physiotherapy Technician exam
• E.M.T Exam
About Prometric Exam For Nurses
Prometric Exam is a 70 item multiple choice exam to be finished in 2 hrs. Content of the exam for nurses includes..
Nurse Specialist: Assessment – 10%, Nursing Problem – 10%, Planning – 18%, Implementation – 17%, Evaluation – 15%.
Prometric P.assing Rate is 50% and the validity is for 3yrs from the date of examination. After the exam your score report will be issued, indicating your score and whether you have passed or failed in the exam.
